It was a beautiful sunny day as a herd of elephants started from their home in search of their day’s feed. A breath-taking sight it was, as the herd of elephants walked through the lush green Sri Lankan forests with the rhythmic swaying of their trunks to the tunes of the forests.
Amongst the herd was a cute baby elephant full of vigor and excitement. The calf wasn’t feeling well that fine day but that didn’t falter the spirited animal. As usual, he went on a roll-going astray in an exploration of his own cutting through the watchful eyes of his parents. Little did he know what awaited him.
Quite far away from the herd, he fell flat on the ground. He was unable to get back on his feet and he screamed in agony. It took a while for a group of veterinarians to come to the rescue of this ailing animal. They tried to help him regain his strength but it was all in vain. After much deliberation, the team decided to transport him to an elephant orphanage for proper recovery, well aware of the daunting task ahead.
Who would’ve thought a tractor would roar to the baby elephant’s rescue? TAFE 45 DI tractor sprung quickly to action. A removable trolley to the tractor was attached and our TAFE Tractor became an exclusive ambulance for the calf. After many tries of pulling and pushing to get the elephant on the trolley, the vets and rescue team finally achieved success. They faced a steep hill ahead, but our sturdy TAFE 45 DI tractor showed its strength. With steady power, it climbed to the top, the elephant safely seated, a quiet victory to their combined efforts and tractor’s power. They even crossed a small river on the way. Pausing in reverence, they sprinkled the cool, glistening drops upon the reclining elephant, before resuming their journey.
The baby elephant was soon brought to a medical center where the veterinarians quickly tended to its wounds and treatment. Once stabilized, they transported it to the elephant sanctuary in a different vehicle back to his family when his childlike innocence blossomed anew.
While the mighty may fall and their monuments crumble, it is the stories of goodness and kindness that endure, standing the test of time. That’s why here is a decade-old tale from the archives of TAFE’s history of not just Cultivating the World but also cultivating happiness, not just serving our loyal customers but also the voiceless souls. This heart-warming story is yet another revisit to our journey to #Cultivate Lives, Happiness, and #CultivateTheWorld.
